The highest quality information

Too many vendors attempt to impress prospective clients by focusing on the number of data sources they draw from or high counts of providers. But, neither of those measures is, in the end, an accurate measure of the quality of information clients receive - and that's what drives the value you get.

Enclarity delivers the highest quality information, especially for demographic variables that change frequently, by tapping the best data sources, assembling the right information via our innovative AcuSync® process, and systematically verifying the results. The result is a storehouse of correct, current, comprehensive information that Enclarity calls its Master Provider Referential Database, or MPRD. Enclarity's MPRD is the most trusted source in the industry - more leading payers have selected Enclarity to solve their provider information problem than any other company. All of Enclarity's information solutions tap the information in the MPRD, so you can be confident that you are receiving information you can rely on.

The starting place for the MPRD is authority and transactional data sources, which currently include over 140 million records. Whenever possible, Enclarity uses original, authority sources, such as state certification boards, rather than compiled sources, which tend to be less current and more prone to errors. Enclarity updates the MPRD based on each source’s release cycle and at the frequency needed to maintain accuracy for our clients. Enclarity also bridges sources, recognizing that although a particular source may be the authority for one data element, it may be not have the best data quality for other elements.

AcuSync is Enclarity's "secret sauce." AcuSync uses advanced analytical and database methods both to create the MRPD and to match provider legacy files to it. Although AcuSync's foundation is time-tested techniques used in the financial industry, it is purpose-built for working with provider information. The process includes steps such as file transformation, standardization of data elements such as name and address, element validation, and determining if two records represent the same provider. Because of AcuSync, Enclarity can quickly and accurately match, update, join and augment provider records, and can identify duplicate records.

Enclarity doesn’t stop there. To ensure that the information it provides is the highest quality, Enclarity performs direct verification of the demographic elements of the provider records in the MPRD, primarily via phone calls. To do so, we utilize a combination of regular contacts that are prioritized by client needs and analytical models that target the providers whose information is most likely to have changed.

Enclarity records data about the quality of each provider data element in the MPRD. On average, there are five fields dedicated to recording data about each element’s quality. Enclarity supplies that quality assurance information to you so you can more easily make business decisions about whether the change will be made automatically, or if you want to take additional action before accepting it.

The best solutions

Enclarity offers a range of information solutions so you can choose the one that makes the most sense for your business. Enclarity's flagship ProviderPoint® solution, which was named the winner of Frost & Sullivan's 2007 Global Excellence in Healthcare Information Technology Product of the Year Award, is a hosted solution that cleans, updates and augments legacy files. ProviderPoint can be the foundation of any provider information strategy. ProviderLookup®, another popular solution, enables people to use a Web browser to search the Enclarity's MPRD for information about a specific provider.

In addition to high quality information, each Enclarity information solution includes Enclarity's healthcare and integration expertise. Enclarity's data scientists and healthcare specialists work with you every step of the way, from choosing the right solution through making the decisions that enable you to get the most value from the information. Enclarity has helped clients with many issues such as creating business rules for accepting changes, determining frequency of updates, monitoring results and finding the optimal spot for integration into your processes. And, Enclarity's service doesn't end when the contract is signed, or even when the initial implementation is complete. Enclarity assigns an Account Management team to each client to provide ongoing expert support.

The only before and after measurement of information quality and associated ROI

Everyone in healthcare knows that poor information quality affects administrative efficiency, and ultimately the quality of care. But, it has always been very difficult to accurately measure information quality at a point in time, track changes over time, and to attach a dollar value to those measurements.

Enclarity has changed all that. Our EQI™ score is an accurate, objective measure that summarizes provider information quality the way a FICO® score summarizes credit worthiness. A file’s EQI score is the result of a multi-dimensional statistical model that summarizes both the accuracy of the file and the significance of the errors in it. EQI is used to:

  • Measure information quality at a point in time
  • Project and measure improvement over time
  • Quantify the economic value of that improvement
  • Benchmark versus competitors

We combine the EQI score with industry estimates of the cost for various activities, such as the costs of manually adjudicating claims, spending time searching for information, cutting new checks and more. As a result, Enclarity gives decision-makers the ability to go beyond the “soft dollar” implications of information quality – important items such as provider and member satisfaction – and understand the “hard dollar” implications.

Most Enclarity clients establish a baseline for information quality during their buying process. You supply Enclarity with a subset of your provider file, and Enclarity performs a Proof of Value engagement, which establishes a baseline EQI score and enables Enclarity to accurately estimate how your information quality should improve over time and the value you will receive. This engagement gives you a new understanding of the state-of-the-state of your provider information quality, provides a baseline for monitoring changes, and enables the development of a sound business case, including expected return on investment.
